The attached Church Bulletin #1166 for 7-29-2007 is revised after the hard copies are produced at the print shop, involving the following information about the EYAF.

on EYAF, English Young Adult Fellowship, from Elder Beverly Tsai
"The people attending July 14 EYA meeting at Tsai's home had a smashing time together. There were relaxing activities, like swimming, watching movies, playing ping-pong, sweating under scorching sun, chatting, eating, then came to the group activities. Pastor Cummins led a hilarious game which was followed by Ms. Tammy Chi's (Intervarsity) leading the interesting and stimulating discussion on the first miracle performed by Jesus Christ - water changed to first-class wine at the wedding banquet at Cana in Galilee. There were 38 adults and up to 10 children participating a variety of activities. 38個大人及10位小朋友七月14日參加英語社青在張理美長老家過燦爛的半天。他們輕鬆地享受包括游泳、看電影、玩乒乓球、曬太陽、聊天、吃零食的活動。政之助牧師帶領大家玩個精彩的遊戲之後,由校際學生團契的Tammy Chi 小姐帶領大家經由一段有趣又有刺激的討論,探討耶穌將水變成酒的事件。
Praise the Lord! Next meeting will be held at Dr. and Mrs. Jowe-Ynn Hsieh in Ladue on Aug. 11th, Saturday, 6:00PM. Come and join us! Please call Pastor Cummins at 314-534-6452 or Beverly 313-0809 for the host to prepare "ENOUGH" food for you. Watch this site for more news to come. "英語社青團契下次聚會在8/11,地點是謝照寅、張雅惠夫婦的家。要參加的人跟政之助牧師314-534-6452或張理美長老314-313-0809聯繫。
The Joy group met tonight (8/27) at Hong-yi & Rosa Lin's home. 12 attended the gathering. It was like the school date during the summer vacation in the old time.
We browsed and discussed the candidate books for the next season of studying and decided to start the season at the end of August. A schedule sheet was passed and filled out tentatively, understanding that the dates and locations might be adjusted as the date approaches. We also brainstormed about some outings. Charles Tsai and Jengjong Shieh were delegated to explore and design the outing activities.

The rest of time was mostly spent in sharing life experiences, knowledge, and miscellaneous episodes。We guessed how many cells of brain die every day, listened to the stories of Samson's recovery and the Lin's recent trip to the Europe.

The Hymn #35 is not a very popular hymn.It does not have exciting tune. It is more thought-provoking than emotiion-exciting.
This is a home-made sample just to give you some idea how the song sounds like in case you forgot what it is like. http://www.sohisam.info/Music/hymns/s35-1.mp3

The opening ceremony of the Taiwanese Heritage Week events at the Zoo is a ground-breaking event. The director of the zoo issued a proclamation on paper and promised to deliver an opening speech shortly after 11:00am. This is unsual as he rarely attended such kinds of events. We are all encouraged to attend the ceremony to show our appreciation of the zoo and all the staffs there for supporting our heritage. We need to let them know that we, the Taiwanese and the friends of Taiwanese care about the heritage and all who help to carry on the heritage. My latest breakthropugh in view the Taiwanese Heritage Week event:
  • It helps me to know how others show and talk about my heritage, what they cover and how they express them.
  • It helps me to think about how much I know about my heritage.
  • It helps me to find out what I should/could progress in appreciating my own heritage which is part of me.
  • It helps me to advance my ability to show and pass on my heritage to those who care about me and those who carry on my heritage in my lineage. With such perspectives I decided to participate and watch the events closely. I certainly will go to the opening ceremony and make the most out of this event. The opening ceremony is where I can contribute and make the world aware of how I care about myself through caring about my heritage and appreciating those who help me caryy on my heritage.

New Horizon

We have dreamed of a single web site for the church after we went through several web sites.

We have also learned that no web site have all the functions and styles. Every web site provides something unique and good for special situations.

Well. The ideal single web site may not be physically exist on one hard disk. It may not contained through one single hosting services. The wonder of Internet is that the single site concept could be virtual.

The single web site is actually created by the effort of stringing all together within one set of navigation scheme. By utilizing many free web site available around the world it could save our money and energy with better effect and efficiency.

This is one of the new attempt to utilize the software, the platform and the existing visibity of free blogging service to allow easy and quick posting.

The webmaster of the church web site will copy contents of the blogs to make static web pages, following certain guidelines established by the Committee of Internet Ministry.

The keys for success in this attempt is in CIM's effort in creating the guidelines, promote the posting movement, and spending time to copy and make static pages.

God bless.
